SISSONVILLE, W.Va. -- Three people were found dead Monday in the Sissonville area in a vehicle, including "Buckwild" cast member Shain Gandee, Kanawha County Commissioner Kent Carper said.
Family members and emergency personnel at the scene also said Shain Gandee was found in the vehicle dead along with his uncle, David. The two men had been reported missing for about 31 hours. The name of the other person who was found in the vehicle was unavailable.
A person on a four-wheeler discovered three unresponsive people in a vehicle Monday morning. Emergency responders converged in the Wolf Pen Road area in Sissonville after reports that a vehicle had been discovered.
David and Shain Gandee last told people they were going four-wheeling in a sport utility vehicle. They were reported missing overnight, according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriffâs Office.
Shain and David Gandee were last seen at Larryâs Bar in Sissonville about 3 a.m. Sunday. The release said the two men said they were going four-wheeling in Shain Gandeeâs Ford Bronco. No one knows where they planned to ride, or the direction in which they left.
Neither is known to have contacted any family members since that time. Family members spent most of Sunday trying to locate or contact the two men before calling 911 to report them missing.
Both of the missing men are from the Sissonville area, have taken vehicles off-road all over Sissonville and throughout other parts of Kanawha County.
David Gandee is 48 years old, about 6 feet tall and weighs 225 pounds. He is a white male with green eyes and brown hair. Shain Gandee is 21 years old, about 6 feet tall and weighs 180 pounds. He is a white male with brown eyes and brown hair.
They were last known to be in Shain Gandeeâs vehicle, a 1984 Ford Bronco with oversized tires. The bronco is red and white in color. The West Virginia license plate number is 3UD308.
