DAYTON -- It's been 100 years since the Great Flood here in Dayton. Thursday, members of the community came together to discuss what future impacts it may have on the Miami Valley.
Doctors held a lecture at the University of Dayton to explain what scientists are predicting and what we've seen recently in terms of extreme precipitation events and flooding.
The lecture also touched on what we can be doing now to combat global warming.
"Think about combining trips, think about adjusting that thermometer to be just a little bit cooler in the winter, and a little bit warmer in the summer. and think about getting more efficient windows.", suggested Sr. Leanne Jablonski, the lecture coordinator.
The Dayton flood of 1913 ran over failed levies and killed nearly 400 people and thousands of animals.
