WEST ALEXANDRIA -- Police have called off a search for the man they believe crashed a stolen car.
It all started early Wednesday morning on State Route 503 in West Alexandria. Police tried to pull the driver over, but he refused to stop. There was a brief chase that ended when the driver crashed into a ditch.
The driver got out on foot and ran away. Police called in a K9 Unit, but could not successfully track the suspect.
The car was towed to the Preble County Sheriff's Office in Eaton. Police say it was stolen out of Huber Heights. Inside, they found two rifles and some tools.
Police plan to resume their search for the man later this morning.
