Grodner Promoted to Supervising Attorney, Child Protection Unit

DAYTON -- Michelle L. Grodner has been promoted to Supervising Attorney of the Child Protection Unit, Montgomery County Prosecuting Attorney Mat Heck, Jr. announced Monday.

The Child Protection Unit, a part of the Prosecutor’s Juvenile Division, intervenes to protect, and in some cases remove, abused and neglected children. Whenever law enforcement removes a child from a dangerous environment, the Child Protection Unit is involved.

Grodner received her law degree from the University of Toledo College of Law in 1998. Prior to joining the Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office in December 2005, Grodner worked as a Probation Office in the Clark County, Ohio Juvenile Court, and served as a guardian ad litem in the Office of the Chicago, Cook County, Illinois Public Guardian. Since Grodner joined the prosecutor’s office, she has been assigned to the Child Protection Unit, the Intake and Grand Jury Division, and in February 2009 she was promoted to Criminal Docket Attorney.

“Michelle has been an excellent criminal docket lawyer. Her experience, knowledge and dedication to help protect children make her an excellent choice for this position,” Heck said.
