DAYTON -- A suspect in an execution-style murder was indicted on Tuesday.
Shawn D. Wood, 32, faces two counts each of aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, felonious assault charges as well as three counts of having weapons while under disability and one count of grand theft motor vehicle.
Montgomery County Prosecuting Attorney Mat Heck Jr. said Cory Turner was found December 16, 2011, in his apartment, lying on his bed, fully clothed and shot execution style.
Heck said Wood had been talking by phone to Turner just prior to his death. wood also was in possession of items belonging to Turner shortly after his death.
Wood is currently under indictment in two other cases from last year, for failure to notify and failure to verify. He was convicted in 1997 of kidnapping for sexual motivation and attempted rape, for which he was sentenced to seven years in prison.
Wood is being held in the Montgomery County Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned on the new charges March 7.
