DAYTON -- A woman has been charged with assault after spraying a cleaning solution in her neighbor's face.
Robin Crowder, 55, who uses a wheelchair, said she and a friend were talking in the hallway of their apartment building about 8 a.m. Monday, after taking her trash to the chute. That's when she said her neighbor, 65-year-old Marisa Walker, came out of her apartment and sprayed her with what they thought was pepper spray.
Crowder said she has had continuing problems with the woman.
Police spoke with Walker, who claims to also have had problems with Crowder. She claims to have been outside her apartment cleaning her door, because Crowder would spit on it, when Crowder and the friend passed by and began yelling at her.
Walker told police she sprayed Crowder with the cleaning solution, which is a mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water. She said she uses it to kill bugs.
Police spoke to Crowder's friend, who confirmed the ongoing dispute and who also said that apartment management have been trying to mediate a resolution between the women for almost a year, to no avail. Dayton police also tried to set up mediation between them but Crowder's friend said Walker refused to participate.
