DAYTON--The Schuster Center is celebrating ten years of entertaining the community. Millions of people have attended performances at the entertainment center in Dayton since it opened in 2003.
Today the community gave the Schuster Center a standing ovation for everything its done for the arts.
"The growth in the past ten years with the opening of the Schuster, phenomonal. We've been able to bring in headline shows, great entertainment," said Keith Wyatt from the Schuster Center.
Described as the crown jewel of the Dayton arts community, more than 3.5 million people have visited the Schuster Center for theater, concerts, and other various events designed for the entire family.
"It helps to engage the community. people share an experience in a place like this and it makes them part of something. They're closer together and it's a community," said Ken Neufeld of the Victoria Theater Association.
At today's anniversary celebration, guests were given a backstage pass behind the theater curtains and a peak at colorful costumes; previously worn by stars in famous musicals like Beauty and the Beast, Wicked, and Phantom of the Opera.
