LEBANON (AP) -- An Arizona man has sued the Boy Scouts of America alleging that his scout leader sexually abused him on a southwest Ohio vacation around 1999.
The lawsuit filed Tuesday in Lebanon in Warren County claims 24-year-old Thomas Abner's scout leader abused him when he was about 11. The former Indiana resident's lawsuit accusing the Boy Scouts of negligence and fraud seeks more than $25,000.
The scout leader, who was convicted in 2002 of molesting former Scout troop members in Delaware County in Indiana, died in 2005.
The Associated Press generally doesn't identify people who allege they were sexually abused, but Abner's attorney says his client agreed to go public.
A Boy Scouts spokesman says they haven't seen the lawsuit but deeply regret that scouts have been abused at times.
