KETTERING -- Some local families spent their day Saturday, giving back to military families in need. Reynolds and Reynolds employees, and their kids put together 100 bikes that will be given as Christmas gifts to families of local National Guard soldiers.
"There's something very special about our families coming together to build bikes and to give to other families this holiday season. It's a great way to reach out to our military to thank them for what they do for our country, and it's just a wonderful family event," said Ron Lamb, the President of Reynolds and Reynolds.
After the bikes were put together, kids signed a special handmade holiday card. The gift will help 40 local military families who need help this season. "We really appreciate a company like Reynolds and Reynolds to the Ohio Army National Guard and be Christmas for somebody that's in need," said Lt. Col. David Mason, from the Ohio National Guard.
The bike build started in 2007 and since then, families have put together more than 700 new bicycles for kids of military families.
