DAYTON -- The City of Dayton is seeking public comment on proposed changes in Community Engagement, the city's program to foster communication and collaboration between City government, residents, neighborhood and business associations, and community leaders.
Public meetings will be held at the Dayton Convention Center (22 E. Fifth St., Rm. 302) to solicit community comments. The meetings are scheduled for:
Thursday, March 7, 5:30-7 p.m.; and
Saturday, March 9, 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m.
Over the past year, the City of Dayton has held a variety of community forums and conducted an online survey regarding Community Engagement, with a goal of enhancing, strengthening and modernizing citizen participation. The outcome is a broad policy that outlines revised roles and responsibilities of both the City and neighborhood associations. The proposalâs areas of focus are: Neighborhood-Focused Outcomes; Leadership Development; Active Community Engagement; and Communication Protocols.
A final recommendation will be presented to the City Commission for consideration by the end of March 2013. For more information or to obtain a copy of the draft, visit www.daytonohio.gov or call 937-333-3679.
