MASON -- The most colorful Opening Day in Kings Island’s tradition-steeped history takes place Saturday, April 27, when the 364-acre amusement and waterpark hosts the inaugural Color Me Pink 5k Walk/Run to raise money and awareness in the fight against breast cancer.

The Color Me Pink 5k features a 3.1-mile course around the park which offers unique and behind-the-scenes views of many popular attractions including the Diamondback roller coaster and the K.I. & Miami Valley Railroad. Along the course are four color shoots. Participants will be doused in color as they make their way through these areas of the course.

Kings Island officials say this experience isn’t about speed or being an athlete. It’s about having crazy pink fun with family and friends while making an impact and helping to save lives in the fight against breast cancer.

Registration for the Color Me Pink 5k, which includes Opening Day admission to Kings Island, is $54.99 per person ages 11 and up and $24.99 for ages 3-10.
Registration for Kings Island 2013 season passholders is $34.99 per person for ages 11 and up and $4.99 for ages 3-10.

An early-bird special with a discount of up to 45 percent off the registration price is available through Friday, February 22.
