DAYTON -- The Dayton drug task force busts a suspected drug house after getting tips from neighbors.
Officers were armed with a search warrant Tuesday night as they approached 430 Boltin Avenue on the city's east side. But, the people inside refused to answer the door, so officers forced their way in. Once inside two pit bulls charged at the officers, and police were forced to shoot them. One dog died in the back yard, while the other was taken away by animal control.
As officers searched the home, they said they found heroin and needles, along with four adults and a child.
Sgt. John Sullivan of the Dayton Police Department told us, "This is basically a house that was being used as a flop house, where a lot of junkies purchased small amounts of heroin. It's just bad for the neighborhood and the neighbors don't appreciate that.''
Police did arrest one woman inside the home on outstanding warrants. They say more charges against others in the home will likely come later.
