FAIRBORN -- Fairborn Schools Superintendent David Scarberry told ABC 22/FOX 45 this afternoon that Christina Maddock, who died from injuries sustained while working in Afghanistan, was in the same graduating class as the late Army Spc. Jesse Snow.

Snow, 25, was killed in action in November 2010 in Kunar Providence.

Scarberry said Maddock and Snow served together in Fairborn's ROTC program and were very good friends.

Scarberry said Maddock was a great student who was involved in lots of school activities.

Matt Kolsky, a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity, said they have already raised about $5,000 for the Maddock family. Christina's brother, Jimmy, is a member of that fraternity.

Kolsky said the fraternity learned of Christina's death on Thursday and Jimmy immediately left for Germany, where she died.

The dean of Wright State's College of Liberal Arts will speak to the media at 4 p.m. today about Maddock and her time at the university.

We will be at that press conference and will bring you the very latest on this developing story -- online and tonight on ABC 22 News on FOX 45 News at 6:30.
