UPDATE: Meteor Strikes Russia, Injures 400 People

MOSCOW (AP) -- Russian officials say more than 400 people have been injured after a meteorite fell from the sky, causing sharp explosions.

Most of the injuries were from broken glass. Russia's Emergency Ministry says the meteorite fell Friday morning in a thinly populated area of the Chelyabinsk region.

Most of the injuries are from broken glass.  Amateur video broadcast on Russian TV shows an object speeding across the sky, leaving a thick white contrail and an intense flash.
