UPDATE -- DAYTON -- Big changes to the basketball games at Dayton Public Schools.
The district has made the decision to move all JV and Varsity games to Sunday afternoon.
According to students there's been trouble in the past.
"There was a fight or big riot after a basketball game at Ponitz and Thurgood," said Marissa Enright, Senior at Stivers High School.
Dayton Public School district announced it is changing the times and day of all junior-varsity and varsity basketball games.
They're being moved from Friday nights, to Sunday at 2 and 3:30 in the afternoon.
"In the middle of the day on Sundays it's not dark out so it could be supervised better is what they were hoping for," said Enright.
"They might want to go out and celebrate Friday, Sundays they really can't because their moms won't let them," said Ashley Ferguson.
All six high schools in the district are affected by the decision.
The district wouldn't give specific details as to why but did say "...the adjustment was made to ensure focus remains on the athletes and not on a limited few who seek to cause trouble after the games."
But some students are skeptical that their plan will work.
"Who's to even say that moving it to a Sunday is gonna stop the fights," said Enright, "There could still be fights, if people are gonna fight they're going to fight either way."
Freshman games will continue to be Friday night at 5.
But the next JV and Varsity games are on Sunday February First.
Those will be the first games played on the new day and time.
