DAYTON -- A suspected bank robber was caught Thursday and will now be spending her night behind bars.
Police told us she hit the Fifth Third Bank in the 3800 block of Linden Avenue in Dayton just before 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015. She then went into the parking lot and asked a customer for a ride. That's when the dye pack exploded.
"The lady just reacted, 'Do you know your purse is smoking?' which is kind of comical in a way," said Sgt. Moises Perez.
Police say the woman proceeded to the Eastown Bingo Hall and ditched her purse in a Dumpster.
Police caught up with her there. Officers told us they believe the suspect was responsible for robbing the same Fifth Third Bank in Dayton just two weeks ago. They say she's behind a number of robberies, including the PNC in Huber Heights at the beginning of the month along with a bank in Franklin.
