EATON-- Eaton Police confirm flyers supporting the Ku Klux Klan were distributed around a Preble County neighborhood on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The flyers were placed on front porches overnight Sunday, and claim to be from the Loyal White Knights, a branch of the racial extremist group.

"As for the KKK, this is the first that I've seen," said Eaton Police Sergeant Steve Hurd.

Hurd said dozens of the flyers had been brought to the Eaton Police Department, from residents wanting law enforcement to be aware of the situation.

The flyers were distributed in the areas of Jamesway Drive and Little League Drive in the north east part of Eaton.

"No one actually saw anyone handing them out so they were not knocking, were not trying to make contact, they were just in a plastic bag with white rice I assume to weigh them down," said Sgt. Hurd.

The flyer reads:

"Loyal White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan are sick and tired of double standards!
Apparently it is wrong for a white cop to defend himself against a vicious black thug who had just robbed a store.
But no national media coverage, outrage, or riots for innocent white teen killed by black cop in Salt Lake City, Utah, August 11th.
Since the government controlled media won't spread the news or defend the victims of anti-white hatred, the KKK will!

Save our land, join the Klan!"

"It's outrageous," said Camden resident Jesse Boomershine, "It startles me, just one of those things that you're like wow... seems like I thought were were out of those times."

Eaton Police say the note, though offensive to some, is not against the law.

"There's nothing criminal about this," said Sgt. Hurd, "There's no direct threats and of course there's freedom of speech."

"Again you're entitled to your opinion but you don't need to be putting it on people's windshields and on their doorsteps," said Eaton resident Micah Overholts.
