DAYTON -- The president of the Dayton unit of the NAACP was sworn in for another two years on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015.
Derrick Foward took the oath of office tonight at the old Montgomery County Courthouse. This is his fifth term as president of the Dayton chapter and he said the organization has set several goals for 2015.
"During these two years, we're going to focus on citizens participation and citizen engagement within our community. we need people to know the importance of getting to the poles and voting for the people who are going to do a good job for them at the local level, state level and the federal level. people really need to understand the importance and power of their vote," said Foward.
Several other elected members of the Dayton unit were also sworn in for another two years.
