Gas Prices Plunge Saving Drivers Hundreds

MIAMI VALLEY-- Gas prices continue to drop around the Miami Valley.

Right now, the national average is $2.10 cents per gallon.

Here in Ohio,  you can easily find gas under $2.00 a gallon. Which is helping a lot of drivers keep extra money in their wallets.
   
People are now able to increase spending in other places.
   
The government estimates that with the lower gas prices, the average household will save $750 compared to last year. But still advise you to buy vehicles with a great fuel mileage.
   
Experts say more fuel efficient cars are taking a back seat to gas guzzlers.
   
The ups and downs in gas prices has been a key challenge for auto-makers. As gas prices fall big trucks, SUV’s and high-performance luxury cars are selling more.
   
Oil prices fluctuate, but the U.S. Government has not changed its requirement for auto companies to build vehicle fleets that will average 54.5 miles per gallon by 2025.
