DAYTON -- Art and healing, two things we know can go together. Friday night in Dayton, a local artist put on a show to help the family of a little girl healing from a potentially life saving liver transplant.
Claire Kaufman is just 15 months old, but has been struggling with bilary atresia, a liver disease most of her short life. In January, Claire received a new liver that came with a $50,000 price tag.
Devon Hansen, is a local artist who was so touched by Claire and her story, that she opened up her heart and her art studio for a show to raise money for Claire's medical bills. It was called ''Give Your Heart to ClaireK Heartpeople Art Show''.
"I'm giving a percentage of my artwork to help the expenses for the family because they've had to take off work to take care of this little girl. and she's adorable.", Hansen told us.
Claire is recovering at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, but if all goes well, she should be home in 2-3 weeks.
If you'd like to help out Claire's family, donations can be made online at Claire's website .
