SPRINGFIELD -- A garbage truck was involved in an accident at 6:25 a.m. this morning at the intersection of State Route 369 and U.S. 40 just west of Springfield.
The driver of a passenger vehicle was transported to an area hospital via ambulance.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol and Rumpke's safety team responded to the scene.
"First and foremost, our thoughts are with the individuals involved in this incident," said Bill Stump, regional safety manager for Rumpke. "We are cooperating with the Ohio State Highway Patrol to investigate the cause."
The scene was cleared by 9 a.m. this morning.
