DAYTON -- Tense moments in West Dayton early Friday morning after a high-speed chase ends with a crash.
It all started on Gettysburg Avenue shortly before 3:00 in the morning. An OSP trooper spotted a speeding car with illegally tinted windows. When the trooper tried to make a stop, the driver sped off.
The driver eventually crashed into a telephone pole on Maywood Avenue. The two people inside the car refused to get out. The trooper says, because of the tinted windows, he could not see what they were doing inside so he called for back-up.
Dayton police arrived to assist, but the driver and passenger remained in the car. Eventually, police surrounded the car and busted out all the windows. The two suspects were taken into custody.
Police also found a loaded gun, marijuana, heroin and a large amount of money inside the car.
