DAYTON -- In an effort to decrease crime in the Dayton area some neighborhoods are fighting back through conversations with those who fight for justice in the community.

Monday night, dozens of people who live in the St. Anne's Hill neighborhood came to a board meeting at the Liederkrantz-Turner Hall.

Their goal is to make their neighborhood a more desirable and better place to live by talking about areas of crime.

Once a month, neighbors meet with officers with the Dayton Police Department and representatives with the Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office.

They have 12 representatives that go to different neighborhoods once a month.

"The more they're willing to contact us and know what's going on I think the better we can serve the community itself," said Assistant Prosecutor Tony Schoen.

The St. Anne's Hill neighborhood says the conversation helps them talk about areas of crime, neighbors they are concerned with and allows them to concentrate on the good stuff their neighborhood has to offer.
