DAYTON -- A three year old boy is recovering Thursday night after he was attacked by a pitbull.
Angel Sanabria was walking out of the dollar store on Linden Avenue with his mother when a 2 year old brindle pitbull bit him.
Sanabria suffered a deep cut to the top of his right eye and bites to his legs.
"The pitbull jumped on top of my brother and started biting him and going crazy," said Stephanie Sanabria, Angel's sister.
She told reporter, Annette Peagler the details of what happened. She said the dog appeared to be tied to a pole, but somehow got loose.
Stephanie and Angel's mother then intervened.
"She tried to grab the dog by its collar and then the dog turned around and bit my mom's jacket," said Sanabria.
Brandon Fultz, the pitbull's owner says he shocked his dog attacked Angel, because she's never attacked anyone before.
"You're not allowed to bring animals inside the stores, so I left her out there which I've done numerous times before and normally she's not hostile," said Fultz. "Maybe she felt intimidated or just scared being out there by herself, may have been upset she was attached to the pole and couldn't go anywhere I mean I'd like to extend my apologies.
Angel's family is just thankful it wasn't worse.
"I was like what am I gonna do if he passed away, like I already lost my father, I don't know what I would do without my brother," said Sanabria.
Angel's mother has not decided if she will press charges, however Fultz was summoned by police for the dog bite.
