DAYTON -- Today marks the first day of Black History Month, and to celebrate the Dayton Human Relations Council offered a free movie and discussion to anyone interested.
Tonight's featured movie was ''The Help''. The goal is to share the history, accomplishments and triumphs of African American culture through film and improve race relations throughout the city.
After the movie, there was an open discussion.
"The Human Relations Council really wants to promote healthy relationships in the community,'' Erica Field, from the Human Relations Council told us, ''and showing something like this and then having dialogue is a great way to have relationships in the community.''
The movie night will be held will be held every Friday night in February at the Dayton Cultural and RTA Center. Next week's featured film is ''A Time to Kill''.
