In the video above you see Officer Willie Hooper get out of his car, and runs into the street to put out stop sticks.
He stops one car and then is hit by a van.
Officer Willie Hooper was hit Tuesday night at Philadelphia drive and Salem Avenue when he was trying to stop this vehicle.
You can see Officer Hooper lands on the left side of his and body his shoulder slams into the pavement.
Hooper has been with the Dayton Police Department for 26 years and is part of the bomb squad.
The woman who hit him, Ashley Jennings, was driving the van.
She was arrested on a felony warrant.
The man who Officer Hooper was trying to stop with stop sticks is Michael Hargrove.
Officers were following him after he called in threatening suicide.
They were just trying to help, but in that process Hooper was the one injured.
Hooper says he will be recovering at home for now.
Both Hargrove and Jennings remain in the Montgomery County jail.
