DAYTON -- An eight-year-old boy was locked in a room by himself with little to eat Friday while his mother left home to go to work.
Police say an electric cord kept the door to the room in his Dayton home closed. The reason? Because the boy was suspended from school and his mother had no place to take him.
So she left him at home with only an orange and a yogurt, officers say. The boy said he had to climb out of the window in order to use the bathroom.
Now his mother, Jessica Norton, is under arrest on charges of child endangering.
